Welcome to Surgiscan
Until now referrals for surgeons have come from other physicians, friends, or former patients. While patients
know if the surgeon is friendly or possesses good bedside manner they do not know if the doctor is a good
surgeon. Referrals from other doctors are typically based on relationships, reputation, and hospital
affiliations. These are certainly not indications of whether your surgeon has the skills to perform your surgery
properly and without complication.
This is the only place where you can learn what happens in the operating room of a surgeon. Registered nurses
and operating room staff are the only people who have first hand knowledge of the surgeon's abilities. Because the
nurses remain anonymous, they are able to give unfiltered, unedited opinions without the pressure of hospital
politics or the surgeons themselves.
We at Surgsican do not recommend any surgeon over another. This site is simply a means for you, the patient, to
know what people who work directly with the surgeon in the operating room really think about the doctor's surgical
abilities.
